TVGA was founded in September 2003 by three gamers from the Athens, Tennessee/McMinn County area: Scott Wood, Kyle Turner, and Dylan Wolf. We first began as the AthensGaming AOL Group, and, having discussed the possibility of starting a "D&D Club", began to work on putting together the TVGA.

   Since we got together as Dungeons and Dragons players, focusing the group on D&D or even RPGs was a natural start. But most of us are the type of gamer that dabbles in a lot of different games. Not only do we play CCGs like Magic and Star Wars, but most of us play (or would like to play) a lot of different RPGs and campaign settings other than D&D, among them Star Wars, 7th Sea, BESM, Wheel of Time, and Scarred Lands.
